Our success - Due to unique designs and continuous review of

technology.

December 2007

Glosfume are able to offer ceramic filter elements in 7 sizes including 2000mm long by 130mm OD, please contact us for details. Refurbishment of Glosfume Alcan (Pechiney) filter

(see July 2007 news for details) nears completion, the filter looks

  almost brand new!

The HMS Incinerator and filter system has now been approved by Lloyds and is to be installed onboard ship in the coming year. A HTMC(400) filter has been installed on the Caribbean Island

of Guadeloupe for the treatment of clinical waste flue gases.

A further order to follow in 2008.

We will be closed from Friday 21st December 2007 to 2nd January 2008 commissioning of Caribbean filter!

November 2007

Very good progress is being made on the installation of the 12-pod

  filter system for the Municipal Waste Incineration system in Slovenia;

the picture shows filter pods and ducting installed.

9th Dross Press Filter supplied since May 2007.

October 2007

Completion and full commissioning of 3rd HTMC(400) titanium swarf dryer based in the UK. Over the past 9 years we have supplied Rhone Poulnc with a number of

Lopac Plica filters. These filters utilise Clear Edge pleated media.

The advantage of this media is a significant reduction in the required filter

footprint. The success of this system has resulted in Rhone Poulnc ordering

a custom built Lopac Plica filter which will operate in a complex pressure vessel.

The filter body has been manufactured from stainless steel.

September 2007

Completion and delivery of a 12 Pod G4 filter capable of handling up to 71,000Am3/hr.

The filter is designed to control flue gas from a new Municipal Waste Incinerator,

which produces both electric and hot water for district heating. The filter took only

10 weeks to manufacture. There are plans to build further units that will be funded

  by the EU.

In the last 12 months over 40,000 people visited Glosfume.com. We hope to launch of our new web site in November 2007.

August 2007

Foot & Mouth - Pirbright and DEFRA preferred the route of Wessex/Glosfume to Incinerate the infected cattle. Glosfume has installed two filter plants at Wessex. In 2000 a 5 Pod system capable of operating up to 25,000 Am3/hr and in 2005 a 16 Pod system capable of operating up to 95,000 Am3/hr. Both filters are fitted with G4 elements and operate at a dP average of 150 mmWg. The low dP is achieved by the combination of filter house design and the G4 element. The Wessex/Glosfume plant is one of the only systems that is W.I.D. compliant and can now incinerate contaminated liquid waste. Vacuum forming plant back into production! The plant has been computerised

and now records and controls all functions with complete traceability to each

  element.

Again we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the contractors who were involved in rebuilding the plant, also our employees for there total dedication and support. It is this team of people that has made Glosfume one of the leading companies in Hot Gas Filtration.

July 2007

Four days after completing refurbishment of the vac plant the GREAT BIG FLOOD arrived “unlucky Friday July the 20th” (or was it?). 2 metres of water totally destroyed the vac plant. The plant will be rebuilt which will include a number of design modifications to increase production rate. Further development work has taken place with syngas production. The Glosfume/ATEX Filtration plants can now handle up to 30,000Am3/hr. The Glosfume-Alcan filter, which was installed in 1999, has now been moved

to France and will be brought back into service; Glosfume will complete this

work by the end of November. The elements in the filter were found to be very

soft (supplied by one of our competitors). These elements will be replaced

with Metcem G4. The G4 element is one of the strongest elements currently available.

June 2007

We have now developed a ceramic filter which complies to ATEX, this new

range of filters can handle up to 2400 Am3/hr gas. The filters are well suited

  to Biomass and Gasification/Pyrolysis applications.

The Great Flood. On Monday 25th we were awash with water up to 1metre in

places resulting in a loss of 3 weeks production. Thanks to the staff,

Insurance Broker and Company everything has been renewed and we are

  back in full production.

In 1998 Glosfume provided Alcan with a ceramic filter capable of filtering oily

fume from an Induction Furnace melting contaminated swarf. The filter has

proved so succesful that when the factory closed at Workington the filter was

  moved to France (see right).

May 2007

Received our first order from the Korean Navy. Norway purchase Glosfume elements for a total refurbishment of filter. We have received our biggest export contract. 70,000 Am3/hr filtering emissions from Municipal Incinerator + waste to energy. This difficult application was solved by Glosfumes recycle system using a dry absorbent.

April 2007

Our good friends in Nottingham have returned to Glosfume. Our first order into the Caribbean filtering emissions from clinical waste incinerator coupled with waste to energy. Our novel designs achieve a 95% absorbent rate for acid gas removal which results in extended filter element and filter body life. Our latest design (2006/7) has made this even more effective. The multicell systems can assist the performance of elements which we would not recommend. Picture of US Granules, Chicago, USA.

February 2007

Installation of a new N.C. machine allows the manufacture of parallel 60 diameter elements suitable for horizontal mounting. Also designed to machine larger tubes.

January 2007

The 6400 element filter at Wessex Incineration has been W.I.D. approved. The filter, which can handle up to 95,000 Am3/hr, operates with G4 elements which are now fitted to all of our new and existing installations Royal Navy placed an order for a Glosfume G4 filter to be installed in HMS Ocean.

The filter will control emissions from a Compact Power pyrolysis plant to convert

  waste to power.

New Compact Hot Gas Filter design to suit the Crematorium Industry. The filter has a very low height and small footprint. Our 2007 spare parts policy. All of our filters are fitted with high quality components supplied by well known companies such as S.M.C. and Goyen etc. We are now negotating with all of our suppliers to offer spares direct to our Glosfume customers at OEM prices. This benefits all, we don't need to hold stock and you can buy up to 30% cheaper.
