November 2006
MASTIC Final trials have now been completed with mastic and has proved to out perform conventional castable refractory. The product has high strength with insulation properties. The mastic when applied to an aluminium launder lasted 4 times longer than the castable refractory
GAS ANALYSER A filter has been designed to protect gas analysers from flue gas particulate. The filter is available in single or dual configuration.
G4PW The G4PW element can be power washed and then dried to remove sticky
particulates which may be caused by a process upset. When dried the element
will regain virgin dP.
OCTOBER 2006
Successful completion of testing of refractory product for lining of aluminium
launders
G4PW element developed, identical in filtration efficiency and performance to the G4 but stronger and can withstand pressure washing
. One of the strongest, non- carcinogenic, ceramic filter elements available.
AUGUST 2006
Between August 05 and August 06 we have sold over 28000 elements. Unlike our competitors we offer full support which includes element installation, at the same time we carrying out a health check on the filter housing. All of our caracass incinerator filter plants have now been converted to G4 elements.
A number of G4 elements which were installed over a year ago have been removed for inspection and testing. The elements can only be described as hard as “concrete’’. This has confirmed that when subjected to high temperature a physical change takes place within the bond and they actually gain strength.
2nd Pilot filter installed on a Biomass process. The filter operates between 0.25 and 25mmWg. At 25mmWg the filter is cleaned down which then results back to 0.25mmWg.
Further development to the G4 element recipe now referred to as G4A.
JULY 2006
With support from both Glosfume and Wessex Incineration Gerard Carroll (see April 2005) has now formed his new company Ace Furnaces Ltd, Gerard continues to work closely with GF as a technical support consultant.
*More information in Members area.
G4 elements are now double dipped top and bottom which makes them capable of withstanding both high clamping pressures and abrasion from incoming coarse particlulate.
Planning application to increase our premises by a further 4500sq/ft
MAY 2006
Recieved our 3rd order from INCO Europe Ltd. The first filter was supplied in 1996 and is still used 24hrs a day, every day of the year. All the filters are now fitted with G4 elements.
Appointment of a South African agent.
GF commissioned their largest UK installation at Wessex Incineration Ltd. The filter contains 6400 G4 elements capable of handling up to 128000 Am3/hr. Since commissioning the dP has constantly modulated between 75 and 125 mmWg. The filter is controlled by BDS5000.
Successful trials have been carried out using G4 elements to filter water. Unlike conventional ceramic elements the G4 and G3 do not degrade when subjected to water. We use the elements to recycle our process water.
Formation of
Rotary Incineration Ltd. A joint venture between Wessex Incineration and Glosfume, designs by Gerard Carroll. The company can offer a complete turnkey system.
APRIL 2006
Working closely with a Slovenian company with a view to be appointed as Glosfume agents
JANUARY 2006
Development of a new refractory product, collected element machined waste is converted into a high temperature mouldable castable. The product is desgined for lining of aluminium launders and should be available October 06.
