MARCH 2008

After 3 months of discussions Glosfume have received the first order in the Ireland for a ceramic filter to control emissions from a wood chip boiler (2.1MWTh) to provide steam at a pharmaceutical site. The filter is designed to meet more stringent levels of particulate control, such as PM10 and PM2.5. A further unit on a wood chip boiler has been ordered. This unit will be installed in Scotland, which will be the first of five. Following extensive land based trials and certification by Lloyds the filter for the Royal Navy has now been installed on HMS Ocean.

FEBRUARY 2008

We are now promoting 3m long filter elements manufactured by Madison. The elements have a proven track record and have been used on a wide range of applications. The filter bodies are designed to withstand temperatures of up to 300 degC. This is due to expansion of the filter casing. As with the normal 1m element, the 3m element can withstand temperatures up to 1200 degC. This will enable Glosfume to offer filtration systems which are in excess of 100,000 Am3/hr.

JANUARY 2008

Second order received from the Caribbean to control emission from a carcass incinerator. The filter will be installed in June 2008.
Last summer we carried out pilot trials on a Biomass plant.

The success has led to a final design.

A second filter has been installed to begin commercial production.

As a joint venture we are manufacturing the first ceramic filter to be installed at a crematorium. The unit is fitted with horizontal elements and of compact design. The advantage of the ceramic filter is that it will be more compact than a bag filter and can offer a lower emission. There is also peace of mind that it can withstand fires.
